Turd Ferguson

When I had first heard about hulu some months ago when it was in beta, I tried to sign up but apparently I didn’t make the cut since I never heard back from them. When I had heard they released the “ready for primetime” version to the public a while ago, I was slow to check them out. Frankly, I don’t really watch much network television and had to work up the effort to go check them out. Well, this weekend I motivated myself to check it out. Mostly to see the programming they had on it since I had heard they had a lot of older stuff on their.

I was actually fairly impressed with the selection of shows they provided. I also noticed the clips feature that they have along with their episodes and quickly went looking for a clip I’ve been hoping to find it made it’s way illegally on youtube or metacafe or the like.

No dice elsewhere, but hulu had it. So I played it for the kids and now “Turd Ferguson” has become a pretty popular phrase around the house must to the chagrin of my wife. Bonus #2, it has an embed feature. So if you don’t know the clip I’m talking about, here you go.

It comes with commercials, but that doesn’t bother me so much. They are short and for the most part unobtrusive. The real gold with this clip was listening to my 9 year old son explain to his friends why “threeve” was funny without giving any real context. They pretty much just looked at him and gave him what was either a pity laugh or just a token laugh cause they knew it should be funny and didn’t want to lose face.

Any way, a few more services like this and I’ll have trouble trying to figure out why we need cable and satellite services. I mean, on demand is way better right? Ok, still wouldn’t be good for sports stuff until it would become real time, cause who likes to watch the games when they know the results?

I think it’s a truly innovative service and I am going to look forward to seeing more things like this. Here is another bonus video (happens to be the all time most popular clip on the site currently) so cheers and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I’m actually surprised I haven’t seen this clip on Yakshi’s site yet.
