Avery: What are you doing?
Me: I’m reading
Avery: Why aren’t you saying the words?
Me: Reading doesn’t mean saying the words
::pauses for a moment::
Avery: Are you just waiting to say the words later?

It’s always interesting on how kids perceive things in their world. What struck me as odd is that Amy reads all the time, yet Avery had never questioned her as to why she wasn’t saying the words when reading. Maybe I struck him as more of the lips-move-while-reading type. It’s probably not that far off.
